Job summary

U Mobile Sdn Bhd is hiring a Senior Executive – Fixed Asset and Inventory Management to ensure accuracy, integrity, and financial control of inventory and lease records across the organization. You will support month-end close, MFRS 16 lease accounting, and audit readiness.

The role requires 2–3 years of related experience, knowledge of accounting principles, and strong analytics with attention to detail. SAP experience is a plus in a telecom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of working experience in related field.
• External audit experience encouraged.
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willing to learn AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity.
• Telecommunications industry knowledge will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Lifecycle Management & Accounting.
• Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and valuation.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Monitor inventory aging, provisions, obsolescence, and stock movements.
• Support stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of inventory-related transactions.
• MFRS 16 Lease Accounting and lease registers management.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
• Support statutory reporting and audit requirements related to lease accounting.
• Assist management in responding to auditors’ queries involving inventories and MFRS 16.

Job Summary

• The Senior Executive – Fixed Asset and Inventory Management is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and financial control of inventory and lease accounting records across the organization. The role supports inventory accounting, inventory reconciliation, costing analysis, MFRS 16 lease accounting, month-end closing activities, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.

The Day-To-Day Activities

• Inventory Lifecycle Management & Accounting
• Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and inventory valuation.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations between physical, operational systems and General Ledger follow up by investigation and resolve inventory variances and discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory aging, provisions, obsolescence, and stock movements.
• Support stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of inventory-related transactions
• MFRS 16 Lease Accounting
• Manage lease accounting in reference with MFRS 16 requirements
• Maintain and update lease registers, including new leases, modifications, renewals, and terminations.
• Calculate and account for Right-of-Use (ROU) Assets and Lease Liabilities.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
• Support statutory reporting and audit requirements related to lease accounting.
• Others
• Assist management in responding to external/internal auditors’ queries involving inventories and MFRS 16.
• Support the Company’s projects and corporate exercises, where applicable, on matters involving and related to inventory and MFRS 16.
• Support management in the preparation and compilation of regulatory and compliance-related reporting on an as-needed basis.
• Review of processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and control weaknesses, supporting automation and process improvements.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in related field.
• Candidates with external audit experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge and experience in SAP will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of accounting principles.
• Telecommunications industry knowledge will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint[SC2.1])
