Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The payroll specialist is responsible for multiple APAC countries including Malaysia.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing on monthly or semi-monthly basis depending on the countries.
  3. Perform maintenance and operations of Payroll System (ADP Celergo and Flex) and Time Attendance Systems (iTAS).
  4. Ensure timely payment of statutory payroll deductions to relevant bodies of each country.
  5. Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, prevailing accounting standards, procedures, and corporate policies.
  6. Provide meaningful payroll analysis for management decision-making.
  7. Provide monthly payroll-related data and cash forecasts.
  8. Participate in monthly accounting closing functions.
  9. Prepare yearly submissions of Tax Schedule.
  10. Participate in internal and external audit activities.
  11. Ensure payroll records are properly maintained for audits and other statutory purposes.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve issues upon employee requests regarding time attendance records.
  13. Liaise with IT personnel for testing new or modified features in Payroll Systems and Time Attendance Systems.
  14. Ensure the system accommodates changes or new requirements related to new compensation plans affecting payroll processing and cost reporting.
  15. Analyze payroll expenses to provide meaningful information for management decision-making.
  16. Attend to government surveys related to payroll.
  17. Perform any other functions assigned by the Immediate Supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor of in Accounting, Human Resource, Business Studies/ Administration/ Management, or other relevant discipline.
  2. Good interpersonal skill.
  3. Good analytical skill, planning, and organizing skill.
  4. Strong math skills with an ability to spot numerical errors.
  5. Able to work independently, resourceful, and good sense of responsibility.
  6. Comfortable in working in a highly visible role and independently.
  7. Knowledgeable in Statutory requirement and other related legislation.
  8. Disciplined and resourceful with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  9. Able to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  10. At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field.
  11. Knowledge of payroll, HR or Time attendance system such as ADP Celergo, Flex System, Workday.

Preferred:
  1. Knowledge and experience in global payroll.
  2. Experience in ADP payroll and Workday.

Skills:
  1. Extensive skill in Excel – ability to work with many formulas and even VBA.
  2. Language Skill – ability to communicate with people from multiple countries in English.
  3. Project Management Skill – ability to work on payroll related projects such as system changes or policy changes.
