Kitchen Operations Management:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to brand standards and recipes.
- Monitor food production to minimize waste and ensure consistency in quality and portion sizes.
- Manage kitchen workflow to meet speed-of-service targets during peak hours.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep workers, and dishwashers.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all food items meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and storage areas.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints related to food quality.
Inventory and Supply Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items (FIFO - First In, First Out).
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Train staff on proper food safety practices and hygiene protocols.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance and ensure all kitchen tools are in working order.
Cost Control:
- Monitor food and labor costs to stay within budget.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service.
- Analyze financial reports and adjust operations as needed to improve profitability.
Customer Service:
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues that may impact the customer experience.
Reporting and Administration:
- Prepare and analyze reports on kitchen performance, including food costs, labor costs, and waste.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and staff schedules.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in kitchen management, preferably in a QSR or fast-food environment.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., ServSafe certification).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
