Job summary

F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG is seeking an Asia Sourcing Office Lead in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to drive global sourcing and operational excellence for DOP. The successful candidate will lead a matrix team of sourcing managers and champion digital procurement transformation across APAC.

We are looking for someone with strong regional sourcing experience, particularly in complex categories, and proven capability in coaching diverse teams. A university degree in Business or Life Sciences is required, with additional qualifications like MBA preferred.

Position

Asia Sourcing Office Lead – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Reporting Line

Directly reports to the Head of Procurement Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Responsibilities

• Drive global sourcing and operational excellence for DOP.
• Lead, coach and develop a regional cross‑cultural matrix team of up to 15 sourcing managers and a Business Capability Lead.
• Champion digital procurement transformation across APAC and navigate complex global markets to maintain competitive and resilient supply networks.
• Accountable for key performance metrics (PPV, preferred supplier share, cycle times), stakeholder and supplier satisfaction, and the team’s OPEX budget.
• Find potential suppliers across Asia, execute initial due diligence and conduct targeted regional benchmarking.
• Oversee compliant global and regional sourcing, benchmarking (RfX), and detailed procurement analyses with NPI and delivery managers.
• Ensure template‑based contract execution (CDAs, SOWs), repository health and define KPIs for on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) delivery.
• Serve as Business Capability Lead (BCL) to drive platform governance, policy, continuous improvement and knowledge management.
• Resolve matrix priority and supplier selection conflicts, represent DOP at external events and provide monthly/quarterly updates to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business or Life Sciences (MBA and CIPS certification highly preferred).
• 5‑7+ years in direct procurement (MedTech, automotive, etc.) with 3‑5 years in a shared‑service or CoE environment.
• Strong regional sourcing and NPI experience across complex direct categories such as EMS/e‑components, plastics/packaging or biologics/chemicals.
• Affinity for AI‑driven solutions and digital transformation (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
• Deep understanding of the demand‑to‑pay process, ERP systems (SAP) and BI tools (Tableau).
• Process‑first Lean/Six Sigma mindset, conflict resolution skills and executive relationship management.
• Proven record of coaching diverse, remote teams and high cultural intelligence in a matrix environment.
• Business‑level English required; Chinese language skills considered an asset.
