J&T Express in Malaysia's Selangor is hiring a sorting centre operations lead to manage end-to-end parcel flows in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will oversee inbound receiving, scanning, sorting, staging and outbound dispatch, ensuring SLAs and timelines are met.
The role requires strong leadership, manpower planning, KPI management and cost control, with collaboration across gateway, linehaul, last-mile and HR.
Lead end-to-end sorting centre operations and daily parcel flow in a fast-paced and high-volume logistics environment. Manage manpower, productivity, service quality and operational KPIs while driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the Sorting Centre, including inbound receiving, parcel scanning, sorting, staging and outbound dispatch.
Ensure parcels are processed and dispatched within required SLA and operational timelines.
Monitor daily parcel volume, shipment flow and sorting capacity to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Plan and optimize operational processes, manpower allocation and workflow to improve productivity and minimize operational costs.
Lead, supervise and manage sorting centre personnel, including sorters, warehouse staff, supervisors and other operational employees.
Monitor and drive key operational KPIs, including sorting productivity, processing timeliness, scan compliance, parcel loss/damage rate, misrouting rate and overall service performance.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly operational performance reports to the Operations Manager / Regional Management.
Coordinate closely with Gateway, Linehaul, Last-Mile, Integrated Management, Customer Support, HR and other relevant teams to ensure seamless parcel movement.
Identify opportunities to improve sorting processes, manpower productivity, workflow efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Ensure all sorting centre activities comply with company SOPs, safety requirements and operational standards.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in courier, logistics, warehouse, sorting centre, distribution or related operations.
Proven experience in manpower planning, team leadership and operational KPI management.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a large operational team.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with WMS, logistics systems or operational management platforms is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with different levels of stakeholders.
Able to work independently, make timely decisions and handle operational issues under pressure.
Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and commitment to operational excellence.
Willing to work on a rotating shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
