Job summary

OCBC Group in Singapore seeks a Solution Architect – Trade, Cards (VP) to drive Target State Architecture and design scalable, secure platforms for retail and institutional clients. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, product owners and delivery teams to translate complex needs into robust architecture and governance.

The role requires 7+ years in enterprise/solutions architecture, with deep cloud-native and microservices skills, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, and databases, plus strong

• 7+ years in enterprise/solutions architecture and cloud-native technologies.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure setup.
• Experience with low-latency systems, market-data integration, and STP processing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across levels.
• Experience in Trade, Treasury & Securities, Cards or Payments is an advantage.

How you succeed Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop architecture solutions that meet their requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of technology solutions. Architect resilient, low‑latency, high‑integrity platforms integrating transaction/order management, industry connectivity, confirmations/settlements, collateral, clearing, regulatory reporting, etc for both retail and institutional clients. Stay ahead of the curve in terms of technology trends and advancements.

What you do Drive Target State Architecture Architect and design highly scalable, secure, and resilient application solutions that precisely meet complex business requirements within the banking and financial services domain. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to deeply understand requirements and translate them into robust, future proof architecture designs. Align Solution Design with Enterprise Strategy Demonstrate strong understanding of architecture strategy and roadmap, ensuring solution designs consistently align with enterprise blueprints, guidelines, roadmap and guiding principles. Deliver Comprehensive Solutions Design Artefacts Produce detailed solution artefacts (data models, sequence diagrams, deployment topologies, resilience/run‑books, NFRs, etc) across application, data, and infra. Deep Domain Expertise with Agility Demonstrate and apply domain expertise in financial services in payments, loan, cards, core banking, wealth management, or related financial services areas to deliver domain aligned technical solutions. Collaborate and Govern Effective Identify and raise architecture deviations and manage tech debt resolutions to Architecture / Platforms forums for timely resolution and alignment. Continuously update and enforce architecture frameworks and guiding principles, demonstrating expert knowledge of when and how to apply them effectively. Lead design reviews and ensure strict adherence to architecture principles and best practices across all technical deliverables. Escalate complex design and implementation challenges to Architecture and Engineering forums, driving timely and effective resolution.

Hands-On Engagement with Delivery Teams and Users Hands on engagement with business and operation stakeholders, partnering closely with engineers, data scientists, and platform teams to ensure solutions adhere to design and best practices (data quality, observability, resiliency, cost) Be a part to champion a culture of continuous learning, value creation, collaboration, innovation and promoting diversity as well as inclusion within the team.

Who you are Preferably 7+ years in enterprise / solutions architecture and cloud-native technologies such as microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka/MQ, Redis, databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle). Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure setup. Experience with low‑latency and high‑reliability systems, market‑data integration, and STP processing. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels. Proven ability to define new architectures, lead projects independently, and drive adoption of best practices. Strong analytical and decision-making skills; proactive and resourceful. Experience in Trade, Treasury & Securities, Cards or Payment domains is an advantage.
