Hitachi Energy is looking for a Solution Architect – Distribution Automation in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This pivotal role focuses on improving power distribution grid solutions by providing technical consultancy and leading the demonstration of distribution automation products.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in electrical engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include supporting local sales in early engagement and ensuring compliance with safety and health policies. Strong communication skills and industry knowledge are essential.

Reporting to the Distribution Automation (DA) Solution Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in supporting and developing solutions to improve the reliability and availability of power distribution grids. As part of the presales team, you will apply your technical skillset to support all the products within the Hitachi Energy portfolio suitable for Distribution Automation such as IEDs, RTUs, Wireless and SCADA systems. As a Solution Architect – Distribution Automation, you will be responsible for the design, integrity and quality of a Distribution Automation Solution and associated systems delivered to customers operating digital distribution grids. You will support the local sales in the HUBs in the early engagement of distribution automation opportunities by providing technical consultancy, presenting solution concepts addressing the key challenges of the targeted customer, demoing end to end solution proposals, leading the process to proof of concepts in the technical pre‑qualification process. You will analyze requirement specifications to translate these to a solution proposal and identify technical gaps and respond to technical clarifications to be discussed with customers. You will drive innovation and best practices in our solution, coaching local team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in the design of distribution automation solutions. The role will support APAC countries; therefore business travel flexibility is required.
