Job summary

TIME dotCom Berhad is seeking a proactive Solar PV Technician to supervise residential installations, perform commissioning and preventive maintenance, and ensure all work follows EC, SEDA, and internal safety standards.

The role involves site supervision of PV modules, cabling, inverters, and monitoring equipment, with documentation of all activities and handover processes to customers.

Qualifications

• PW4 (3 Phase) competency certificate is required.
• Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Solar PV installation, commissioning or maintenance.
• Knowledge of EC, SEDA and TNB requirements for residential PV systems.
• Able to work at height and outdoor site conditions.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation of residential Solar PV systems per drawings and SOPs.
• Supervise PV modules, mounting structures, cabling, inverters, protection devices, monitoring equipment.
• Verify installation against SLD and technical proposal.
• Perform testing, commissioning and system verification with proper test equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of Solar PV systems.
• Diagnose electrical/mechanical faults and inverter alarms.
• Assist in technical site surveys and evaluate safety risks.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE, PPE and height procedures.
• Complete installation and maintenance reports with photo documentation.

Job description

To supervise the installation, perform commissioning, inspection, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of residential Solar PV systems while ensuring full compliance with SEDA, Energy Commission (EC), and company quality and safety standards. The technician will support installations, troubleshooting, customer handovers, and documentation to deliver a safe, high-quality, first-time-right installation experience.

Key responsibilities

Installations of residential Solar PV systems in accordance with approved engineering drawings and company SOPs.

Supervise installations of PV modules, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, inverters, isolators, protection devices, and monitoring equipment.

Verify installation against approved Single Line Diagram (SLD) and technical proposal.

Perform testing, commissioning and system verification using appropriate test equipment.

Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) of Solar PV systems.

Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults, inverter alarms and monitoring issues.

Assist in technical site surveys and assess installation feasibility and safety risks.

Ensure compliance with SEDA, Energy Commission (EC), TNB and company requirements.

Strictly comply with HSSE requirements, PPE usage and work-at-height procedures.

Complete all installation, commissioning and maintenance reports with accurate photo documentation.

PW4 (3 Phase) competency certificate

Knowledge of residential Solar PV systems and EC, SEDA and TNB requirements.

Able to work at height and perform outdoor site work.

Preferred: Experience with Huawei, Solis, Sungrow or equivalent inverter brands.

Preferred: Experience using Solar PV testing instruments.

Preferred: First Aid and CPR certification.
