Solar Plant Maintenance Lead

Job summary

NUR is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Engineer to oversee solar plant upkeep in Malaysia. You will inspect panels, structures, wiring, and inverters, ensuring safety and peak energy output. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, system tests, and coordinate contractors to execute repairs and upgrades.

Strong records and budget support are expected. On-site role with safety at the core. Minimum 3 years in electrical field and a Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in electrical-related field.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspecting and cleaning solar panels to maximize energy output.
• Inspecting and maintaining panel support structure and building facilities to ensure safety and integrity.
• Inspecting and maintaining electrical wiring and connections to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting inverters and other electrical components for proper functioning.
• Conducting regular preventative maintenance on all equipment to minimize downtime and ensure peak performance.
• Performing system tests and checks to identify and address any issues promptly.
• Monitor and supervise all site landscaping and maintenance of the garden and grassed areas are completed in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
• Supervise and organise contract maintenance tradesmen, general workers and cleaning staff.
• Supervise and manage non-technical contracts as required within the facility.
• Maintain high quality of plant history in CMMS or other available maintenance recording system.
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and energy production.
• Collaborating with other team members and contractors to complete necessary repairs and upgrades.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
• Responding to alarms and emergencies in a timely manner to minimize downtime and any potential damage to the solar plant.
• Assist in preparing annual budget and any proposal for project/ improvement works.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
