Job summary

AQ is seeking a Solar Installer to support installation, wiring, testing, and maintenance of PV systems at project sites. You will collaborate with technical teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient work aligned with engineering specs and safety standards.

The role requires a certificate or diploma in electrical engineering or related field, 1–2 years in solar installation or related technical fields, basic knowledge of PV systems, and ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Solar Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years in solar installation, electrical works, or related technical fields (fresh graduates may be considered with relevant internship or training).
  • Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, wiring, and tools; ability to follow technical drawings; basic troubleshooting.
  • Electrical wiring certification or solar PV installation training (SEDA, CIDB, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English for communication.

Responsibilities

  • Install and wire solar PV systems, including assembling mounting structures according to engineering designs and layout plans.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and performing maintenance on solar equipment and systems.
  • Support wiremen in identifying proper methods for laying out, positioning, and securing solar panels or arrays to ensure optimal installation and electrical configuration.
  • Safely and efficiently operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate safely and effectively, in compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Learn and apply drone camera operations on-site for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure proper site housekeeping, including cleanup after installation work is completed.

Job description

The Solar Installer is responsible for supporting the installation, wiring, testing, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role requires hands-on work at project sites and collaboration with technical teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient installations in line with engineering specifications and safety standards.

Duties & responsibilities.
  • Install and wire solar PV systems, including assembling mounting structures according to engineering designs and layout plans.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and performing maintenance on solar equipment and systems.

How you’ll be successful.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Solar Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, wiring, and tools; ability to follow technical drawings; basic troubleshooting.
  • Electrical wiring certification or solar PV installation training (SEDA, CIDB, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and / or English for communication.
  • A valid GDL (Goods Driving License) is considered a significant advantage.
