Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Software Engineering is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in Software Engineering.
• Experience teaching at higher education level is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions.
• Develop, review, and enhance Software Engineering curriculum content.
• Prepare teaching materials, notes, labs, projects, and other academic resources.
• Prepare and maintain academic documents, including CAP and TTS.
• Prepare examination questions, assignments, quizzes, and project evaluations.
• Participate in examination administration and marking processes.
• Monitor attendance and student progress; provide guidance and mentoring.
• Upload teaching materials and recordings on Google Classroom and learning platforms.
• Respond promptly to student and management communications.
• Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and related activities.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development programmes.
• Contribute to programme review and quality assurance activities.
• Engage in industry collaboration and curriculum enhancement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Programme Leader and Management.

Job description

IPK College is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and suitably qualified Software Engineering Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, assessment, student development, and continuous academic improvement.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge and expertise in Software Engineering and be able to deliver subjects according to their academic qualification, area of specialisation, and/or relevant industry experience, in compliance with MQA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and other teaching and learning activities as assigned by the Programme Leader.

Develop, review, and enhance Software Engineering curriculum content to ensure relevance to current industry needs and technological advancements.

Prepare teaching and learning materials, lecture notes, laboratory exercises, projects, and other academic resources.

Prepare and maintain academic documents, including Instruction Plan, Reflective Log, Course Assessment Plan (CAP), and Table of Test Specification (TTS).

Prepare examination questions, assignments, quizzes, practical assessments, and project evaluations.

Participate in examination administration, moderation, invigilation, and marking processes.

Monitor and maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, academic performance, and progression.

Provide academic advising, mentoring, and support to students.

Upload and maintain teaching materials, lecture recordings, assessments, and learning resources on Google Classroom and other learning platforms.

Respond promptly to student and management communications through Google Chat and other official communication channels.

Participate in student recruitment, admission, orientation, and academic-related activities.

Attend staff meetings, professional development programmes, training sessions, and College events.

Contribute to programme review, MQA compliance, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Participate in industry engagement activities, academic projects, and curriculum enhancement initiatives.

Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Programme Leader and Management from time to time.

Academic Qualification

Master's Degree in Software Engineering

Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering

Additional Requirements

Strong knowledge and expertise in Software Engineering.

Good understanding of software development methodologies, software design principles, software testing, and quality assurance practices.

Proficiency in software development and programming concepts relevant to Software Engineering.

Relevant teaching experience in higher education institutions will be an advantage.

Relevant industry experience in software development, software engineering, system implementation, or IT-related fields will be an advantage.

Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an academic environment.

Candidates must be able to teach subjects within their area of academic expertise and/or industry experience.
