An opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer Senior to join our Delivery International team in Kuala Lumpur.

The Software Engineer Senior will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, starting from soliciting requirements from external clients, estimating the effort, designing, coding, debugging, testing, implementing and validating applications whilst collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. All deliverables are to be complied with programming standards and defined processes.

This person can grow their career by taking up the role as a Project Lead, to lead a group of highly skilled engineers to deliver BAU and major projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Soliciting client’s requirements and perform impact analysis.
2. Develop and test configuration scripts as per client requirements.
3. Perform software design and development as per specifications.
4. Perform unit testing and peer code review to ensure quality of deliverables.
5. Provide support to various testing phases - Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Test (UAT), System Integration Test, Regression Test, Performance Test, etc.
6. Provide client training as required.
7. Provide support and guidance to other team members, remotely or in-office, when required.
8. Additional work outside regularly scheduled/normal business hours may be required.
9. As a Project Lead, plan, monitor and track the progress and quality of the deliverables for the entire project team.

Essential requirements for the role:

1. Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in IT industry.
2. Educated to degree level (e.g. BSc, MSc, B Tech) in an IT related subject such as Computer Science or MIS.
3. Solid programming/development experience on RDBMS stored procedures (Oracle PL/SQL).
4. Familiarity with enterprise level applications.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Comfortable working with teams in remote locations.
7. Ability to communicate with clients and manage client’s expectations.
8. Ability to convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

The following skills would be advantageous:

1. Oracle Database administration: installation, database creation and managing database objects.
2. Knowledge in JAVA.
3. Experience in building REST API.
4. Experience in using Spring Boot.
5. Familiarity with the Card Payment Industry.
6. Passion to learn new technologies.
7. Experience and certification in cloud, especially AWS.

Other Requirements:

1. Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to interact with both Business and IT partners to define, understand and evaluate business requirements and resolve issues.
2. Good time management skills, able to prioritise and progress several lines of work.
3. A self-starter, pro-active and able to operate under their own initiative.
4. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated software development team.
5. Able to travel based on project when time permitted.
