Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an engineering intern to contribute to feature development for our mission-critical software products. You will participate in requirement definition, design, implementation and testing across a global, multi-site development environment.

The role emphasizes C/C++ programming with exposure to 3G/LTE/DMR specifications. You should be near Bayan Lepas, Penang, and available to start in June–September, with a flexible short-notice arrangement.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications / Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Knowledge / Experience with 3G / LTE / DMR specs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as an individual engineer on implementing new feature or enhancing existing feature for the product.
• Participate in all aspects of product development process including requirement definition, design, implementation and testing.
• Coordinate and participate in software design and code review.
• Create and execute unit, integration and system tests.
• Inter-group and intra-group teamwork in a multi-site world-wide development environment.
• To meet project's deliverable and timeline requirement in a highly dynamic environment.
• Adhere to the team's performance and quality metrics.
• To collect and analyze data affecting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Contribute to the improvement of existing software development processes.
• Apply good communication and interpersonal skills toward solving problems in a team environment.
