PeopleLAKE is seeking a front-end software engineer to build and optimise user-facing web apps using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to enhance usability and ensure brand consistency across products.

The role emphasizes high-quality design, performance optimization, and staying current with new technologies. Collaboration, code quality, and thorough documentation are key expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience and proficiency in TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Experience with third‑party libraries, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of back‑end development is a plus.
• Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
• Understanding of the full web development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Experience with authentication solutions (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Familiarity with design/prototype tools like Figma.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong code review skills and focus on quality, performance, and best practices.

About the role:

In this role, you will build and optimise user-facing web applications using TypeScript, React and Next.js, work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to enhance the usability of the applications, and uphold high-quality design standards and brand consistency across the company’s products.

Responsibilities:

• Gathering information from stakeholders regarding functionality and features.
• Collaborating with various teams to enhance the usability of the application.
• Attending and contributing to meetings.
• Writing and maintaining code.
• Creating technical documentation.
• Build apps with/without mockups and prototypes.
• Ensuring adherence to high-quality design standards and brand consistency.
• Staying informed about emerging technologies.
• Optimizing applications for maximum speed and performance.
• Monitoring the front-end performance of the application.
• Performing thorough code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience and proficiency in Typescript, React and Next.js.
• Experience in integrating with third‑party libraries, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of back‑end development is a plus.
• Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
• In‑depth understanding of the entire web development process, encompassing design, development, and deployment.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization solutions (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Familiarity with working with design and prototype software such as Figma.
• The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.
• Experience with version control, Git, and GitHub.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Proficiency in using AI tools (like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Bolt.new, Cursor, Windsurf) to enhance development productivity.
• Strong code review skills with attention to code quality, performance, and best practices.
