Role Summary

The Social Manager will be responsible for a group of key brands for VMLY&R Malaysia, working with a team of managers and executives to lead strategy in campaign planning and always-on social media management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead in content strategic planning across social platforms on a monthly basis to provide direction for several FMCG brands’ online presence.
  • Collaborate with creative & account teams to create and deliver best-in-class social media and content-driven campaigns for our clients.
  • Be a thinker and doer on social content-related work, including consumer conversations and interactions, ensuring content calendars are engaging, on-brand, and strategically aligned.
  • Liaise & manage clients to get campaign and content approval, understanding their changing needs and adapting our social media approach accordingly.
  • Work on monthly social reports to analyze post performance, providing insights to improve communication strategies and engagement.
  • Deep-dive into social media analytics to understand content performance and offer actionable insights backed by social data.
  • Stay updated on industry changes to ensure our clients remain ahead of digital and social trends.
  • Spearhead social advertising and content promotion across platforms, optimizing for client objectives.
  • Champion VMLY&R’s culture—honest, open, responsive, team-oriented.
Skills and Expertise
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading social strategy and campaigns.
  • Proficient in all mainstream social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.) and audience dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving social media landscape and a desire to stay current on emerging platforms.
  • Keen awareness of current events and trending topics, with the ability to incorporate trends into social media strategies quickly.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Additional experience in account management is a plus.
  • Creative flair and strong sense of what engages consumers in copy, design, and formats.
