Job Summary

This role ensures the effective management of releases and their interdependencies, orchestrating the completion of technology controls related to the releases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review all releases and drive their implementation as Change and Release Manager.
  2. Assist the Product Owner with Roadmap planning across multiple releases and streams.
  3. Develop delivery and release plans, including technical dependencies, aligning all partners with support from the team and architect.
  4. Negotiate, plan, and manage all portfolio release activities, ensuring alignment across key partners and vendors.
  5. Coordinate and monitor product delivery involving multiple squads and interfaces.
  6. Manage release planning activities, including creating change implementation plans, coordinating with vendors and teams, following ESDLC processes, raising change tickets, and obtaining sign-offs.
  7. Partner with IT engineers to orchestrate deployments, resolve issues, and secure sign-offs.
  8. Draft and circulate communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of upcoming changes, progress, and timeline adjustments.
  9. Review and improve release and production deployment processes, exploring opportunities for simplification or automation.
  10. Measure, monitor, and publish metrics to establish the maturity of the release management function.
  11. Ensure timely delivery of Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans.
  12. Oversee Go-Live activities, including execution of deployment plans and documenting lessons learned.
  13. Establish processes for prioritizing and deploying hot fixes and change requests through ad-hoc releases.
  14. Maintain constant alignment with other squad Change and Release Managers to anticipate dependencies and manage priorities.
  15. Assess team capacity for roadmap execution and coordinate with Tech Lead & Chapter Lead for resource optimization.
  16. Identify and remove blockers, and suggest improvements to build a high-performing team.
  17. Participate in the preparation and planning of production outputs.
  18. Manage risks associated with releases effectively.
  19. Comply with governance activities necessary for go-live, seeking approvals from architecture and governance forums.
  20. Ensure releases adhere to Change Delivery Standards, ITSM, and ESDLC.
  21. Address technical compliance requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, supported by PO/Chief PO/Hive Tech Lead.
  22. Ensure release artefacts and assurance deliverables meet standards and policies.
  23. Maintain hygiene of releases and communicate schedules effectively.
  24. Embed high standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
  25. Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance issues collaboratively.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Change & Release Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master.
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with CRES-related technologies such as asset management, safety and security, or workplace services.
  • Experience in transforming technology landscapes within medium-sized portfolios.
  • Proven release management experience, including planning and coordination with vendors and teams.
  • Change management experience, including planning, ticketing, approvals, and closure.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle and delivering high-quality programs using agile methodologies.
  • Practical experience working in agile teams and participating in agile events.
  • Degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • Expertise in control processes and methodologies in project and BAU environments.
  • Ability to meet milestones in dynamic, time-sensitive environments.
  • Self-driven with ownership of work and ability to work across organizational boundaries using agile principles.
  • Strong communication skills in English, including vendor, stakeholder, and release communications.
  • Strategic thinking with attention to detail.
