Job summary

Accenture Southeast Asia is seeking a senior Data Engineer/Data Architect to design and build a target data platform on Snowflake (or SAP Datasphere) in Kuala Lumpur. You will ensure migrated pipelines and data models are robust, scalable, and well-governed, with deep Snowflake expertise and potential SAP BW knowledge developed on the job.

The role involves designing data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, source-to-target mappings, and implementing security models.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• Solid Snowflake experience, including data modelling, SQL, virtual warehouses, and basic security features.
• Hands-on experience with Python or SQL-based ELT and a pipeline orchestration tool, such as Airflow, dbt, ADF, or similar.
• Comfortable with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to read and understand data specifications and translate them into working solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design target data models, ingestion patterns, and transformation layers using Snowflake and SAP Datasphere.
• Build and review ELT/ETL pipelines and data transformations, ensuring adherence to established coding and naming standards.
• Contribute to source-to-target mapping reviews and translate business requirements and rules into functional code.
• Define and implement security and access-control models, including RBAC and data masking.
• Support the design and planning of historical data migrations and cutover activities.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Participate in technical design workshops and collaborate with the client's architecture team.
