SMT Process Engineer (SMT Machine Programming) - Manufacturing based in Perai

Our client is a MNC Manufacturing based in Perai and specializing in design, manufacturing, and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions within the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, optimize, and maintain SMT production processes for new and existing products

Program and debug SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, SPI, and AOI systems

Create and manage SMT machine programs

Perform new product introduction (NPI) process setup and validation

Analyze process performance, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness

Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and process integration

Support and train operators and technicians on SMT processes and best practices

Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and production records

Ensure compliance with ESD, IPC, ISO, and safety standards

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience in SMT process engineering

Proven experience in SMT equipment programming and setup

Hands-on experience with SMT machines

Strong understanding of IPC standards

Experience with SPI, AOI, X-ray inspection systems, and reflow profiling

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

Effective communication and teamwork abilities
