Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Malaysia, Penang, Bayan Lepas, is seeking an SMT Digitalization & Automation Project Lead to design, develop, and deploy industrial software supporting manufacturing operations. You will drive system integration across MES/ERP, build data pipelines, and oversee dashboards for operational insight.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience with at least 1 year in leadership, and a hands-on SMT background is preferred.

• Preferably hands-on SMT experience (equipment & processes).

Software Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy, andmaintainindustrial software applications supporting manufacturing operations.
• Develop web applications, APIs, backend services, and database solutions using approved development platforms and technologies.
• Implement software enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements for existing applications.

System Integration

• Develop andmaintainintegrations between manufacturing systems, equipment, databases, MES, ERP, and enterprise applications.
• Design and implement secure data exchange mechanisms and APIs to support business process automation.
• Build andmaintainmanufacturing data pipelines, datasets, and reporting solutions.
• Develop dashboards and data visualization applications to support operational monitoring and decision making.
• Support data collection, cleansing, validation, and transformation activities.

Application Support

• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for software-related issues.
• Monitorapplicationhealth, performance, and reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation, source code repositories, and deployment procedures.
• Identifyopportunities to automate manual processes through software and data solutions.
• Evaluate and adoptnew technologiesto improve development efficiency and manufacturing digitalization capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and digital governance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–5years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in leadership and project management.
• Preferably candidates with hands-on experience in SMT (equipment & processes).
• Strong team player with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
