Job summary

Bosch in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Software Development professional to design, develop and maintain industrial software for manufacturing operations. The role covers web apps, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations across MES/ERP environments.

You will lead project efforts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement while adhering to coding standards and cybersecurity policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in leadership and project management.
• Hands-on SMT experience with equipment and processes.
• Strong team player with ability to influence and collaborate.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, JavaScript and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).

Job Description

Software Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain industrial software applications supporting manufacturing operations.
• Develop web applications, APIs, backend services, and database solutions using approved development platforms and technologies.
• Implement software enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements for existing applications.

System Integration

• Develop and maintain integrations between manufacturing systems, equipment, databases, MES, ERP, and enterprise applications.
• Design and implement secure data exchange mechanisms and APIs to support business process automation.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Build and maintain manufacturing data pipelines, datasets, and reporting solutions.
• Develop dashboards and data visualization applications to support operational monitoring and decision making.
• Support data collection, cleansing, validation, and transformation activities.

Application Support

• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for software-related issues.
• Monitor application health, performance, and reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation, source code repositories, and deployment procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes through software and data solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency and manufacturing digitalization capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and digital governance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in leadership and project management.
• Preferably candidates with hands-on experience in SMT (equipment & processes).
• Strong team player with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in programming (Python, SQL, JavaScript) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Able to work independently, align with team goals, and lead by example.
