YTL DC SOUTH SDN. BHD. is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to support 24/7 data centre operations in Kulai, Malaysia. You will perform daily checks on electrical distribution, UPS, generators, ATS, and EPMS, ensuring reliability and uptime.
You will develop preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for electrical and mechanical systems, inspect equipment, run thermographic scans, and lead RCA investigations to minimise downtime.

This is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role supporting mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure in 24/7 data centre operations. You will perform daily operational checks of electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, ATS, and EPMS to ensure continuous and reliable operations, while providing technical support for the operation, maintenance, and repair of cooling systems, HVAC equipment, heat exchangers, and supporting facilities infrastructure.

Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all electrical and mechanical systems
Conduct routine equipment inspections, thermographic scans, battery autonomy testing, and generator load bank testing
Ensure ≥98% Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) compliance
Supervise and coordinate contractors performing servicing or preventive electrical maintenance activities
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and failures in critical systems promptly to minimise downtime and service disruption
Lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for electrical and mechanical incidents
Collect and analyse operational data from electrical infrastructure systems via EPMS/BMS platforms and maintain accurate historical records
Monitor and analyse power quality indicators including voltage stability, harmonics (IEEE 519 compliance), and phase imbalance
Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate expansions, upgrades, and new installations
Bachelor in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3-5 years' experience in data centre operations or related field
Proven experience with critical electrical systems (eg: UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, power distribution equipment, HL/LT switchgear, transformers, backup systems)
Proven experience with critical mechanical systems (eg: HVAC, chiller, computer room air handler, heat exchangers, fuel systems, fire detection/suppression, and building monitoring system)
