Job summary

SCHOTT is seeking a Production IT/OT Leader in Penang to ensure stable and reliable IT/OT operations across the plant. You will drive Smart Manufacturing initiatives and lead IT/OT projects from definition to deployment.

You will develop the plant OT roadmap, strengthen cybersecurity, monitor data quality and collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to deliver cost-efficient, standardized solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Technology and/or Engineering.
• Around 5 years of experience in Production IT/OT, including development, implementation and operational support of IT/OT systems.
• Strong knowledge of Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stable and reliable Production IT/OT operations.
• Drive Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives to improve data integration and digital manufacturing.
• Lead and support IT/OT projects and system rollouts from requirements through deployment.

• Improve system performance and data quality via monitoring and data management.

Job description

• Ensure stable and reliable Production IT/OT operations by administering systems, resolving incidents and maintaining agreed service levels.
• Drive Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives by improving the integration and use of production and quality data across digital manufacturing systems.
• Lead and support IT/OT projects and system rollouts, from requirements definition and solution design through testing, implementation and deployment.
• Develop and maintain the plant OT roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate IT/OT standards and the plant's digitalization strategy.
• Strengthen OT cybersecurity by ensuring implementation and compliance with OT security requirements.
• Improve system performance and data quality through regular monitoring, master data checks and corrective actions.
• Coordinate internal teams and external IT/OT service providers to ensure effective, cost-optimized and sustainable solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization of Production IT/OT processes and systems.
• Build capability within the team through training, knowledge sharing, performance management and employee development.
• Support EHS improvement initiatives and ensure IT/OT activities contribute to a safe and compliant working environment.

Your Profile

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Technology and/or Engineering.
• Around 5 years of experience in Production IT/OT, including development, implementation and operational support of IT/OT systems.
• Strong knowledge of Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0, production systems and digital solutions such as MES, MIP, CAX and related applications.
• Experience in IT/OT system administration, troubleshooting, incident management and 2nd-level technical support.
• Good understanding of IT/OT architecture, cybersecurity, service management and system standards.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with internal teams and external service providers.
• Good communication, presentation and training skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business/production needs.
• Knowledge of data quality, master data management and continuous improvement / Lean principles.
• Leadership capability to guide, develop and motivate team members.
