About the Role

UST is expanding its manufacturing services footprint in South East Asia. We’re seeking a seasoned industry consultant who deeply understands the manufacturing ecosystem and can lead presales engagements, Maturity assessments, and solution roadmaps for clients in the region. The ideal candidate brings both domain experience from the shop floor and technical knowledge of MES, PLM, and IT/OT integration to help clients embrace Industry 4.0.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead consultative presales engagements with key manufacturing clients (EMS, automotive, industrials, aerospace).
• To identify clients' pain points and translating them into actionable opportunities.
• Conduct maturity assessments of production environments, MES/PLM landscapes, and digitalization readiness.
• Identify business and technology gaps and design smart manufacturing transformation roadmaps.
• Collaborate with BD, delivery, and engineering teams on solution architectures and building proposals.
• Conduct client workshops, plant walk-throughs, and as-is/to-be mapping exercises.
• Stay updated on emerging Industry 4.0 trends including digital twins, cloud-native MES/PLM, edge computing, and AI-driven data analytics.
• Represent UST in manufacturing forums and local alliances in the region.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience in manufacturing and industrial environments, including 5+ years in consulting, presales or solutioning roles.
• Strong understanding of shop floor operations, production KPIs, and value drivers.
• Hands-on or solutioning experience in MES tools (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, AVEVA Wonderware) and familiarity with cloud-based MES deployments.
• Exposure to PLM platforms like Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault ENOVIA, or PTC Windchill.
• Experience working with or integrating OT systems (SCADA, PLCs, OPC-UA, MQTT, historians) into enterprise IT.
• Proven success in working with sales and delivery teams in creating solution architectures, contributing to revenue growth.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin to support regional client engagements.

Preferred Skills

• Consulting or implementation experience with digital transformation programs in manufacturing.
• Ability to design high-level architectures using cloud platforms, IoT, AI/ML and data analytics.
• Exposure to Industry 4.0 frameworks, smart factory concepts, and predictive maintenance solutions.
• Ability to develop contents (e.g., whitepapers, presentations) for the Manufacturing domain.
• Demonstrates cultural awareness and adaptability in engaging with diverse stakeholders across Southeast Asia.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region as required for client engagements.
• Local industry knowledge across Penang, Selangor, Johor, and Singapore corridor.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
