Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced welder to join its fabrication team in Malaysia. The role involves performing various welding processes and assembling metal components for structural assemblies, with emphasis on quality, safety, and adherence to welding procedures.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of metal fabrication experience, is familiar with welding machines and hand tools, and can work well with a team under supervision. Training and PPE are provided as part of the safety program.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication or related manufacturing work.
• Experience operating fabrication tools and machines preferred.
• Good teamwork and communication.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, MMA, as per job requirements.
• Weld metal components such as plates, sheets, pipes, channels, frames, and structural assemblies.
• Conduct weld repairs, rework, and finishing as needed.
• Work with fitters to assemble components prior to welding.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and cleaning of weld joints before and after welding.
• Inspect weld joints for quality defects (porosity, undercut, spatter, misalignment).
• Follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) when applicable.
• Make adjustments to achieve required penetration, bead appearance, and overall quality.
• Operate welding machines, gas-cutting torches, angle grinders, and basic fabrication tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding machines, cables, and torches.
• Follow all welding safety standards and company safety procedures.
• Use required PPE such as welding helmet, gloves, aprons, safety shoes, and eye protection. Report faulty equipment, material shortages, or defects to the supervisor.
