Key Responsibilities:
Site Safety Monitoring
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards or unsafe practices.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, Factories and Machinery Act 1967, and other relevant Malaysian safety regulations.
- Liaise with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) and other authorities when required.
- Maintain valid registration with DOSH as a Competent Site Safety Supervisor (SSS).
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain all safety-related reports, records, and documentation (e.g., daily safety reports, toolbox meeting records, accident/incident reports).
- Assist in the preparation of the site’s Safety and Health Plan (SHP).
Training & Awareness
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and induction training for workers and subcontractors.
- Promote safety awareness among site personnel through continuous communication and reinforcement.
Accident Prevention & Investigation
- Respond promptly to accidents or near-miss incidents and assist in investigations.
- Recommend corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Coordination & Enforcement
- Coordinate with project management, contractors, and site teams to implement safety measures.
- Stop work in unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Green Book (Site Safety Supervisor) certified by DOSH Malaysia.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in site safety supervision within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and willing to work outdoors at construction sites.
