A property development company in Penang is seeking a Safety and Health Officer to assist with daily inspections on construction sites. The role involves conducting safety audits, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates must have a diploma in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of site experience. A valid local certification is required.
To assist Safety & Health Officer in audit, coordinate and conduct daily Safety, Health and Environment inspection in all construction sites.
Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field performing site audits to the entire project on a daily basis, if possible coordinate with the Safety & Health Officer.
To ensure all incidents are reported immediately. To conduct accident investigation and report as and when required.
Communicate, coach and assist the field staff to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
To assist in develop safety and health policies, procedure, rules & regulations for construction site use.
Check excavation works, barricade requirements, and ensure warning signs are put up accordingly.
To witness competent scaffolder in the inspections on all the temporary scaffoldings and follow up on recommend improvements.
To hold responsibility in the arrangement of the installation of safety nettings as required and provide Covered Entrance Point.
Check and verify all electrical tools and other equipments / tools are adequate and safe use before allowing in to construction site.
Filling of records and documents for Authority (DOSH) requirements including the preparation and execution of Permit to Works.
Assist Safety & Health Officer to carry out inspection of overall site and complete the Safety Inspection Checklists as per the OSHA (1994) requirements.
To regularly inspect multilevel scaffoldings/staging and formwork structural props / support and report to Competent Scaffolder or Safety & Health Officer of any findings.
Assist Safety & Health Officer to prepare monthly report for the Project Head.
To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the management from time to time, including assisting on daily site works.
