Overview

Position Overview: The Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety and health regulations at the construction site. The role includes supervising daily site activities, assisting in the implementation of safety programs, and maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure workers comply with safety and health regulations.
  • Supervise site activities to ensure safe work practices.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on workplace, equipment, and machinery.
  • Provide toolbox briefings and guide workers on PPE usage.
  • Assist in training new employees on safety procedures.
  • Identify hazards, implement risk controls, and report non-compliance.
  • Take prompt action on unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Inspect high-risk activities (scaffolding, work at height, electrical, chemicals).
  • Ensure safety signage, emergency access, and fire equipment are in good condition.
  • Prepare and maintain site safety reports and records.
  • Assist SHO in accident/incident reporting and implementing safety programs.
  • Act as liaison between management and workers on safety matters.
  • Assist in resolving on-site conflicts and provide guidance to site workers.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including labor, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate with project engineers, architects, and consultants.
  • Recommend improvements for site safety measures.
Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Safety and Health or related certification, registered with JKKP (DOSH Malaysia).
  • Possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certificate / yellow book recognized by DOSH (e.g., SHO/SSS course at an accredited institution such as NIOSH).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor in the construction industry.
  • Experience in construction is an advantage; able to work independently and collaboratively to achieve safety objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high sense of responsibility.
  • Willing and able to work at project sites and travel as required.
