Job summary

Principle Perspective Engineering in Rawang, Selangor is seeking a Safety Officer to oversee site safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements on construction sites. You will enforce safety plans, conduct toolbox talks, monitor PTW systems, and ensure compliance with DOSH guidelines and CIDB standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of site safety experience, Yellow Book certification, and willingness to be based on-site with nationwide project relocation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years site safety experience in construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, CIDB safety requirements.
• Familiar with Permit to Work (PTW) system.
• Able to conduct toolbox talks and site briefings.
• Firm, proactive, and able to enforce safety on site.
• Willing to be based full-time on site and relocate nationwide project to project.

Responsibilities

• Site Safety Monitoring: Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
• PTW: Assist in controlling and monitoring PTW systems for high-risk activities.
• Toolbox & Safety Briefing: Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to workers and subcontractors.
• Hazard Identification & Control: Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions with barricading and signage.
• Compliance & Enforcement: Ensure PPE and site rules compliance; stop unsafe work.
• Incident Reporting: Record accidents and near-misses and assist investigations.
• Documentation & Records: Maintain safety records and checklists.
• Coordination with Safety Team: Work with SH0 and project team on safety plans and audits.
• Subcontractor Safety Control: Monitor subcontractor safety performance.
• Emergency Preparedness: Support drills and emergency procedures.

Responsibility

Job Purpose

Support the implementation and enforcement of site safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirementsin accordance withMalaysia DOSH (JKKP) guidelines, CIDB requirements, and project safety plans. Ensure daily site activities are carried out safely and in compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety Monitoring

Conduct daily site inspections to ensure all works comply with safety procedures, method statements, and legal requirements.

Permit to Work (PTW)

Assist in controlling and monitoring PTW systems for high-risk activities (lifting, working at height, confined space, hot works, etc.).

Toolbox & Safety Briefing

Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to workers and subcontractors.

Hazard Identification & Control

Identify unsafe conditions/acts and implement immediate corrective actions; ensure proper barricading, signage, and access control.

Compliance & Enforcement

Ensure all workers comply with PPE requirements, safety rules, and site regulations; stop unsafe work when required.

Incident Reporting

Record and report accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; assist in investigation and corrective/preventive actions.

Documentation & Records

Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, toolbox records, permits, and site safety documentation.

Coordination with Safety Team

Work closely with SHO and project team to implement safety plans, audits, and improvement actions.

Subcontractor Safety Control

Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.

Emergency Preparedness

Support emergency drills, first response actions, and evacuation procedures.
