MSR Green Energy, a pioneering solar development company in Malaysia, is at the helm of transforming the energy landscape with sustainable and clean energy solutions. We are on the lookout for a seasoned Site Safety & Health Officer with a robust passion for renewable energy and a proven track record in ensuring workplace safety on an 18-month contract basis on-site at Paka, Terengganu. With at least five (5) years of experience in the field, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety protocols for our solar projects, from initiation to completion. This position is instrumental in maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce a comprehensive site safety plan, including hazard analysis, risk mitigation, and emergency response strategies
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and best practices
- Lead safety orientations and training sessions for all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure awareness and understanding of safety policies
- Coordinate with project management teams to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for preventive measures
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary safety documentation and permits are in place and maintained
- Promote a proactive safety culture on-site, encouraging the reporting of safety concerns and continuous improvement of safety practices
- Manage the allocation and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage across the project sites
- Stay abreast of the latest safety regulations, standards, and best practices within the solar and construction industries
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or a related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety management, preferably in the solar energy sector or construction industry
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and practices applicable to the construction and renewable energy industries
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and training sessions
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and motivating teams to adhere to safety protocols
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with safety management software
- A proactive approach to safety, with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve safety issues promptly
- A valid Green Book
