Job summary

Alta Vista Asia Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to monitor and enforce OSH requirements across site activities. You will conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to protect workers, subcontractors and visitors.

The role involves toolbox talks, safety inductions, and preparing comprehensive safety documentation such as risk assessments, HIRARC and incident reports. Strong investigation skills and PPE oversight are essential.

• Demonstrated ability to enforce safety requirements on-site.
• Capable of conducting risk assessments and safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce OSH requirements, laws, and procedures.
• Conduct site safety inspections and observe practices.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance by workers, subcontractors and visitors.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety inductions for personnel.
• Prepare safety reports, risk assessments, HIRARC, method statements, records and incident reports.
• Investigate accidents and near misses; recommend actions.
• Monitor PPE usage and compliance with safety rules.
• Coordinate with project management and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Integrate safety into site activities and procedures.
• Follow up on non-conformities and close corrective actions.
• Promote continuous improvement of safety practices and culture.
