Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of our on-site operations. This candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing robust site procedures, conducting rigorous inspections, and managing technical drawings to ensure project specifications are met accurately and on schedule. This position is critical for maintaining our high standards of workmanship and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Development and Implementation of Site SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures):
    • Research, develop, write, and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical site activities.
    • Ensure all SOPs comply with industry best practices, company policies, and relevant health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
    • Conduct training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors on new and existing SOPs to ensure understanding and adherence.
    • Regularly review and update SOPs based on operational feedback, incident reports, and changes in legislation.
  • Site Inspection and Quality Assurance:
    • Perform daily, weekly, and scheduled site inspections to monitor work progress, quality of workmanship, and material compliance.
    • Identify and document any defects, non-conformities, or safety hazards. Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
    • Ensure all site activities are carried out in strict compliance with approved methods, safety plans, and quality control plans.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, reports, and photographic documentation.
  • Drawing Management and Technical Review:
    • Manage all project drawings and technical documents, ensuring the latest revisions are available on site and obsolete drawings are removed.
    • Conduct thorough checks of architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings for accuracy, constructability, and clashes.
    • Liaise with the design team, consultants, and clients to resolve any discrepancies or technical queries arising from the drawings.
    • Prepare and submit Request for Information (RFI) documents to clarify ambiguities in the design or specifications.
    • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities.
    • Monitor site progress against the project schedule and report on variances.
    • Support the measurement of work done for interim payments and variations.
    • Attend site meetings and provide technical input.
    • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement on site.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a site-based engineering role within the construction, manufacturing sector.
  • Essential: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in developing and implementing Site SOPs.
  • Essential: Strong experience in conducting site inspections and a keen eye for detail.
  • Essential: Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and checking technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and familiar with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently.
