Job summary

Weir is seeking a Head of Manufacturing for its Kuala Lumpur site. This onsite leadership role oversees a large, skilled workforce and shapes manufacturing strategy across safety, production, and people leadership.

You will drive performance, lean initiatives, TPM reliability, and capital planning to support ambitious growth. With executive support and clear progression paths, you will influence global best practices and ensure sustainable, compliant operations aligned with Weir’s engineering

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations in multinational companies.
• Experience delivering operational excellence, cost optimisation, and cultural transformation.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, QMS, and safety programs; audit readiness.

• Multi-Department Oversight: lead Manufacturing, Engineering and Lean teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
• Operational Excellence & Innovation: champion Lean and drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Engineering & Asset Strategy: oversee TPM, maintenance programs, and capital investment projects.
• Quality & Compliance: ensure adherence to ISO standards and customer requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Supply Chain and NPD on production schedules and launches.
• Leadership & Talent Development: build leadership depth and a culture of accountability.
• Financial Stewardship: manage annual manufacturing budgets and KPI reporting.
