About the job: Site Engineer (Pavement/Highway/Roadwork Construction)

Company Background:

We are representing our established client in the civil engineering construction industry. They specialize in constructing roads, bridges, airport roads, and maintaining highways. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a suitable civil engineer candidate to join them as Site Engineer (Pavement/Highway/Roadwork Construction).

Job Description:

1. Prepare engineering designs, specifications, costs, and quantity estimates for projects; obtain required easements or permits from local authorities.
2. Provide engineering support during development review processes, including hearings, pre-application conferences, planning commission meetings, and kick-off meetings.
3. Prepare requests for proposals and bids, review contract bids and proposals, and assist in the coordination and review of consultant design work.
4. Review and verify the adequacy and accuracy of computations, preliminary layouts, and design work from field and survey data.
5. Research applicable codes, regulations, and requirements for assigned projects, develop engineering plans, and compile preliminary layouts. Write specifications, coordinate advertising for bids, perform construction management, and advise contractors and site supervisors during construction.
6. Review developer plans and specifications within scope of knowledge for public work projects and ensure compliance with city standards.
7. Represent the Project Manager on project management issues in the absence of the Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

1. Possess a Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in highways, roadwork maintenance, infrastructure, or bridge construction.
3. Willing to travel to sites.
4. Flexible to perform work outside regular hours.
5. Working hours: Mon - Sat (8 am - 5 pm).
6. Fixed-term contract: 1 year (renewable).
