Site Engineer (Pavement/Highway/Roadwork Construction)

Company Background:

We are representing our established client in the civil engineering construction industry. They specialize in constructing roads, bridges, airport roads, and maintenance of highways. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a suitable civil engineer candidate to join them as Site Engineer (Pavement/Highway/Roadwork Construction).

Job Description:

• Prepare engineering design, specifications, costs, and quantity estimates of work projects; obtain required easements or permits from local authorities.
• Provide engineering support to the development review process, including support during hearings, pre-application conferences, planning commission meetings, and kick-off meetings.
• Prepare requests for proposals and bids, review contract bids and proposals, assist in the coordination and review of consultant design work.
• Review and check adequacy and accuracy of computations, preliminary layouts, and design work from field and survey data.
• Research applicable codes, regulations, and requirements for assigned projects, develop engineering plans, compile preliminary layouts, write specifications for plans, coordinate required advertising for bids, perform construction management, and advise contractors and site supervisors during actual construction.
• Review developer plans and specifications within the scope of knowledge for the appropriate design of public work projects and compliance with city standards.
• Represent the Project Manager on Project Management issues in the absence of the Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the relevant field, preferably with experience in highways/roadwork maintenance, infrastructure, or bridge construction.
• Must be willing to travel to site.
• Must be flexible to perform any work outside working hours.

Job Details:

• Working hours: Mon - Sat (8am - 5pm)
• Fixed Term Contract: 1 year (Renewable)
