Job description

The Site Engineer is the technical lead at project sites, responsible for conducting energy audits, managing technical data collection, and supporting the execution of energy efficiency (EE) solutions. This role ensures that all site activities comply with safety regulations, engineering standards and project requirements. As the main on-site liaison between Solarvest and the on-site client, the Site Engineer also works closely with the Solutions Engineer and Energy Analyst to implement technical and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits, including walkthroughs and system observations to identify key energy-consuming systems and constraints.
  • Perform data collection, install, configure and maintain energy audit equipment, but not limited to - power loggers, temperature sensors, flow meters and pressure sensors.
  • Support the Solutions Engineer in assessing facility systems, identifying energy-saving opportunities and planning for effective project execution.
  • Ensure all energy audit equipment is properly installed, used, maintained and calibrated according to project and manufacturer standards.
  • Ensure that all electrical wiring, installation and on-site works comply with local standards and safety regulations.
  • Collect and organize all necessary technical data (e.g. load profiles, equipment specifications, system operation) required for proposal preparation and engineering analysis.
  • Provide technical support during implementation of EE solutions including smart lighting upgrades, AHU retrofits, chiller system enhancements and EMS deployment.
  • Serve as the main on-site liaison with the client, coordinating access, timelines, safety briefings and project updates.
  • Liaise closely with the Energy Analyst and Solutions Engineers to ensure alignment between field data, system design and client expectations.
  • Monitor and report site activities, challenges and technical updates to the Energy Audit and Project teams.
  • Support post-implementation verification (M&V) and assist with testing, commissioning or troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned or deemed necessary by the management.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in technical fieldwork (energy, M&E, facility maintenance, etc.).
  • Familiarity with energy audit equipment (power analysers, flow meters, data loggers, etc.)
  • Strong hands-on understanding of building electrical systems, HVAC (especially chiller/AHU) and basic BMS.
  • Certification such as wiremen, chargeman, HVAC or other energy efficiency related certification is highly advantageous.
  • Able to interpret single-line diagrams, equipment nameplates and system schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic report documentation.
  • Physically fit for equipment handling and site inspections.
  • Eager to learn and grow within the energy efficiency and sustainability field.
  • Good communication skills for basic client interfacing on-site.
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and teamwork mindset.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
  • Willing to learn and grow, able to work systematically and demonstrate accountability.
  • Willing to travel and work at various client sites nationwide, including overnight stays.
