About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this full-time Shovel Driver role at ROCK POWDER SDN BHD, located in Ipoh, Perak, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the mining operations of this established organisation. As an experienced Shovel Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavation machinery to load and move raw materials at the mine site.

What you'll be doing

• Carefully operate and maintain a large hydraulic shovel to load haul trucks with overburden, ore, and other materials.
• Conduct regular pre-operational checks and report any issues or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with the mining team to ensure materials are loaded and moved efficiently and safely.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimise risks and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Significant experience (3+ years) as a Shovel Operator or Excavator Operator in a mining or heavy construction environment.
• Proven competence in the safe and proficient operation of large hydraulic shovels and other heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver's license and certification for operating heavy machinery.
• Commitment to safety and promoting a safe working culture.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team in a demanding operational environment.
