Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for a Shop Manager (Bintang Mall Miri) to join our growing team.

Malaysia marks the first direct retail investment in Asia through a joint venture partnership with Malaysian owned MST Golf Group of companies, a well-established golf retailer and service provider in the region. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 38 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Job Description
  1. Lead, train, motivate, and manage the outlet team to deliver excellent service across all departments.
  2. Conduct manpower planning for the shop according to approved headcount, seasonal peaks, promotional periods, etc., and liaise with the Area Manager and HR for recruitment and related procedures.
  3. Ensure all team members observe and adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations.
  4. Work with the team to achieve the shop's monthly sales targets.
  5. Plan and monitor stock delivery and processing.
  6. Ensure all Operational and Customer Service SOPs are followed within the shop.
  7. Manage and monitor product display arrangements according to VM guidelines.
  8. Conduct daily morning briefings, provide product knowledge training, and update staff on policies.
  9. Supervise all team members and attend to customer inquiries.
  10. Oversee overall shop operations to maintain consistent retail standards.
  11. Analyze sales data and shop performance, and report updates to the Area Manager.
  12. Liaise with relevant departments on maintenance and cleanliness of the shop premises.
  13. Plan and execute stock takes (routine, ad-hoc, annual) as required.
  14. Track sales and ensure achievement of daily and monthly targets.
  15. Maintain effective communication with Head Office and relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.
  16. Review and appraise staff performance to identify talent and facilitate staff retention.
  17. Ensure accurate tills reports and cash collection procedures.
  18. Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health policies.
  19. Implement sales and promotion plans as needed.
  20. Address suspicious activities within the premises.
  21. Perform any other legal assignments as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • At least a Certificate/Diploma in Retail Management or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Assistant Shop Manager in reputable retail companies of similar size.
  • Passion for and knowledge of sports is an advantage.
  • Proven leadership and management skills (managing at least 10 staff).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work long hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
  • Open to relocation.
