• Plan, coordinate, and execute import and export shipments by sea, air, and land.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents (e.g., Bill of Lading, Customs Declaration, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists).
• Arrange freight forwarding and liaise with shipping lines, transporters, and customs agents.
• Ensure timely clearance of goods through Malaysian Customs and other relevant authorities.
2. Customs Compliance & Regulations
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Royal Customs Department (JKDM) regulations and international trade laws.
• Apply for import/export permits, duty exemptions, and certificates (e.g., Certificate of Origin, Form D, Form E).
• Keep updated with any changes in customs procedures, HS codes, tariffs, and Free Trade Agreements (FTA).
• Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport companies.
• Track shipments and resolve logistics issues such as delays, damages, or demurrage charges.
• Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for smooth cargo handling and storage.
4. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions.
• Generate shipping reports, cost analyses, and KPI tracking for logistics performance.
• Work closely with finance to ensure proper invoicing, payment of duties/taxes, and claims processing.
• Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to align shipping schedules and requirements.
• Work with regulatory bodies (e.g., MITI, MAQIS, Port Authorities) to obtain necessary approvals.
• Handle customer inquiries and provide updates on shipment status.
• Familiarity with Malaysian Customs Act, Dagangan Kastam (Customs Order), and port procedures.
• Experience in trade documentation and Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, DDP).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Cargowise, Freight Management Systems).
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to handle urgent shipments and customs-related matters outside office hours.
