You will manage documentation, liaise with carriers and brokers, and handle import/export shipments while ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in shipping, logistics, import/export or customs operations.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and tariff classifications.
• Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to handle multiple shipments.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping documentation and freight invoices.
• Liaise with shipping lines, forwarders, and brokers for compliant movement of goods.
• Process import/export shipments ensuring customs compliance.

HOME PIN (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Shipping Executive to join our dynamic Import/Export & Customs team. This is a full-time position based in Sungai Petani, Kedah. As a Shipping Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating our shipping operations, ensuring the seamless movement of goods through our import and export channels. This position is integral to maintaining our operational efficiency and supporting our strategic objectives in the logistics and supply chain management sector.

What you'll be doing

• Coordinating and managing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs clearance forms, and freight invoices
• Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods
• Processing import and export shipments, ensuring adherence to customs regulations and company procedures
• Tracking and monitoring shipment progress, providing regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders
• Preparing and submitting customs documentation and declarations to relevant authorities
• Negotiating shipping rates and terms with logistics service providers to optimise costs
• Resolving shipping discrepancies and addressing delays or issues that may arise during transit
• Maintaining accurate records and databases of all shipping transactions and documentation
• Ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations, trade agreements, and customs requirements
• Collaborating with sales and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in shipping, logistics, import/export, or customs brokerage operations, preferably 2-4 years in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade compliance requirements
• Proficiency in shipping and logistics software systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with external parties and internal teams
• Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and processing documentation
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in customs clearance, logistics, or supply chain management would be advantageous
