Job Title: Ship Hotel Director

Reports To: Ship Owner / Executive Management

Job Type: Full-time, Contract-Based

Job Overview

The Hotel Director is responsible for overseeing all hospitality operations onboard the ship, ensuring an exceptional guest experience across the hotel, food & beverage (F&B), housekeeping, concessions, spa, salon, and entertainment services. This role involves building the hotel brand, designing hospitality offerings, hiring and training the team, and ensuring the seamless daily operation of all hotel services. The Hotel Director reports to the Ship General Manager and collaborates with other department heads to create a high-quality hospitality experience.

Key Responsibilities including directly overseeing, and / managing a team to oversee:

  • Implement the ship’s hotel brand identity, service standards, and guest experience strategy.
  • Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including accommodations, F&B, housekeeping, spa, salon, concessions, and entertainment.
  • Recruit, train, and manage the hospitality team, including F&B staff, housekeeping, purser staff, and concessions personnel.
  • Ensure top-tier guest service standards, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the hotel’s operational budget, revenue goals, and cost controls.
  • Drive revenue, including room sales, onboard revenue (F&B, entertainment etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with maritime hospitality regulations, international cruise industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Work with other departmental heads on event planning, entertainment programming, and onboard retail operations.
  • Collaborate with the casino, sales & marketing, and onboard retail teams to create a unified guest experience.
  • Monitor guest feedback, address concerns, and continuously improve service offerings.
  • Manage vendor relationships for hotel supplies, F&B inventory, and operational logistics.
  • Implement and oversee hotel technology solutions, including reservation systems, CRM platforms, and guest service technologies.
  • Implement and oversee a good procurement processes of the Hotel

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in hotel or hospitality management, with at least 3 years in a cruise or maritime environment.
  • Detail oriented, ensure hands-on work, execution focus
  • Great people management skill to ensure effective & efficient performance of the team
  • Candidates with a young and vibrant character are preferred
  • Strong expertise in luxury hospitality, brand development, and guest experience management.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing hospitality teams.
  • Deep understanding of guest service excellence, F&B operations, and hotel marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of maritime hospitality regulations and international cruise industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, shipboard environment with 24/7 operations.
