Job summary

CBRE Asia Pacific in Melaka, Malaysia seeks a Shift Sr. Technician to maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems across multiple facilities. You will support preventive maintenance and repairs within the Engineering and Technical Services function.

The role involves supervising a shift, following standardized procedures, and ensuring safety and code compliance while coordinating stock and resources for timely operations.

Qualifications

• Min. Engineering Diploma in Mechanical/HVAC with 3-5 years of job-related experience; combination of experience and education considered in lieu of a diploma.
• Valid driver's license and completion of an apprenticeship required.
• Have prior supervisory experience.
• Meet the physical requirements (stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting 50 lbs or more).
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain large electric or pneumatic control systems for HVAC and refrigeration.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC equipment for proper operation and code compliance.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine best course of action.
• Manage HVAC stock levels for materials, supplies, and components.
• Supervise and lead a shift team to ensure smooth daily operations.

About The Role

As a CBRE HVAC Shift Sr. Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at multiple facilities.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain large electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, Calibrate instruments, gauges, and control components.
• Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot difficult equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Manage HVAC stock levels for materials, supplies, and component needs on hand.
• Supervise and lead a shift team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact the quality of own work.
• Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

What You’ll Need

• Min. Engineering Diploma in Mechanical/HVAC 3-5 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma. Valid driver's license and completion of an apprenticeship required.
• Have prior supervisory experience.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
