Job description

We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join a high-performance team supporting advanced precision equipment used in metrology and industrial quality control. This role is critical in ensuring customers receive prompt and professional support for maintenance, calibration, repair, and installation services across Malaysia. You will work hands-on with systems such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and industrial X-ray solutions, while also contributing to service quality improvement, knowledge-sharing, and client satisfaction.

Reporting to: Service Manager

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel to client sites across Malaysia

Work Mode: Field-based

The Role:

  • Perform on-site installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of metrology and industrial imaging systems
  • Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle including warranty, service contracts, and ad hoc repairs
  • Collaborate with service administrators to ensure timely scheduling, documentation, and order processing
  • Prepare and submit service reports, calibration certificates, and commissioning documentation accurately and promptly
  • Support product demonstrations and customer engagement during exhibitions or technical seminars
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers during onboarding or technical tasks
  • Communicate with logistics, finance, and other departments to support the complete service workflow
  • Recommend spare parts planning, tool requirements, and process improvements based on field observations
  • Continuously upgrade product knowledge and participate in training programs

The Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in field service, preferably in precision engineering, machinery, quality systems, or related industries
  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently
  • Effective communication and customer handling skills
  • Able to manage travel and work well in both independent and team-based environments
  • Detail-oriented and organized in documentation and follow-up processes
