Job summary

Envicool Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a field service engineer to test and commission data center cooling equipment. You will perform startup, functional testing, parameter setting and system verification on-site at customer sites.

Responsibilities include equipment inspections, controller settings, fault diagnosis, after-sales support and performance testing, with travel to project sites as required to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, HVAC or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Willingness to work on project sites and travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission data center cooling equipment including startup and functional testing.
• Perform equipment inspections, controller settings, and performance tests.
• Coordinate with clients and other stakeholders for joint commissioning and testing.
• Provide after-sales technical support, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance.
• Analyze alarms, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform part replacements, software/firmware upgrades, and equipment optimization.
• Prepare commissioning records and test reports.
• Assist RCA analysis and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Provide basic training on equipment operation to clients and O&M personnel.

This role involves testing and commissioning of data center cooling equipment, including startup, functional testing, parameter setting, and system verification. You will complete equipment inspections, controller settings, operational parameter adjustments, and performance tests as required by the project.

Key responsibilities

• Test and commission data center cooling equipment, including startup, functional testing, parameter setting, and system verification
• Complete equipment inspections, controller settings, operational parameter adjustments, and performance tests
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, and other suppliers for joint commissioning and system testing
• Provide after-sales technical support, fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for delivered equipment
• Analyze equipment alarms and faults, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Perform part replacements, software/firmware upgrades, and equipment optimization
• Prepare technical documents such as commissioning records, test reports, and Field Service Reports
• Assist in RCA analysis for major or recurring faults and follow up on corrective actions until closure
• Provide equipment operation and basic technical training to clients and O&M personnel

About you

• Diploma/Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, HVAC, or related fields
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Strong hands-on skills, fault-finding ability, and problem-solving capability
• Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
• Experience with HVAC, CRAH/CRAC, precision air conditioning, CDU, FWU, liquid cooling, or data center equipment is preferred
• Experience in Testing & Commissioning, Field Service, after-sales repair, or equipment commissioning is preferred
• Able to work on project sites and travel as necessary
• Strong sense of responsibility, proactive learning attitude, and ability to solve problems independently
