Job description

An ideal candidate should be highly skilled and experienced Senior Virtualization Engineer to manage and optimize our virtualization environment. They will have deep expertise in VMware, vSphere, and related technologies and will play a critical role in designing, deploying, maintaining, and securing the virtual infrastructure that supports the bank's critical applications and services.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level virtualization infrastructure, primarily VMware-based (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN).
2. Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of virtualized workloads.
3. Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
4. Perform capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance tuning. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
5. Automate provisioning, monitoring, and management tasks using tools like PowerCLI, Ansible, or vRealize Automation. Evaluate, test, and recommend virtualization tools and technologies.
6. Provide Level 3 support for virtualization-related incidents and requests.
7. Prepare and maintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and procedures.
8. Participate in audits and compliance checks, providing technical insights and support. Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN.
2. Strong knowledge of virtualization architecture, storage, networking, and security.
3. Expertise with automation tools like PowerCLI, vRealize, or Ansible is desired; familiarity with Windows and Linux OS in virtual environments is a plus.
4. Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Zerto) and a good understanding of cloud integration with hybrid virtual environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
5. Strong knowledge of banking IT compliance standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001) is preferred. Experience in a banking or financial services IT environment is strongly preferred.
6. 6+ years of experience in virtualization engineering or infrastructure roles.
7. VMWare Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) or higher (VCAP/VCIX).
8. ITIL Foundation or knowledge of ITIL processes; Microsoft or Linux certifications are a plus.
