Job summary

Ambition is seeking a technically strong Full Stack Developer in Kuala Lumpur to design, build, and maintain scalable applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js. You will work across frontend and backend, deliver high-quality solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes scalable architecture, secure coding practices, and exposure to AI-assisted development tools, with a hybrid work setup in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of hands-on full stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and frontend + backend frameworks.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM tooling (Prisma).
• Solid understanding of secure coding practices and modern web security.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, Git workflows, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using TypeScript across frontend and backend.
• Build responsive, accessible UIs with React and Next.js for multiple web platforms.
• Develop secure, high performance backend services, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL endpoints with Node.js (Express/Fastify).
• Design and optimise relational databases, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices across the stack.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams through the software lifecycle from design to production support.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, automation, and AI-assisted development tooling adoption.

The Role

What We're Looking For

A technically strong, solution-oriented software engineer:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in full stack software development
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript with proven experience developing applications using React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, or Fastify
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including database design and optimisation, with experience using ORM tools such as Prisma
• Familiar with frontend state management, testing frameworks, secure authentication methods (JWT/OAuth), and modern web security best practices
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Agile software development practices
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with a passion for learning new technologies and leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
