Job summary

Grab is seeking a Security Engineer focused on Detection Engineering. You will research attacker techniques, design and deploy detection logic across SIEM/EDR/SOAR, and work with cross-functional teams to mature our detection lifecycle.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, threat intel collaboration, and scalable, near-real-time detections. The position is based onsite in Petaling Jaya, reporting into Security Automation and Detection Engineering, with responsibilities spanning incident

Qualifications

• Experience researching and translating attacker TTPs into detections.
• Proven ability to build high-fidelity detection rules and analytics.
• Familiarity with log sources like Kubernetes/EKS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AV telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Research new detections and translate insights into concrete detection opportunities.
• Build, test, and deploy detection logic across SIEM/EDR/SOAR with CI/CD.
• Lead detection lifecycle activities including tuning, backlogs, and metrics.
• Support incident and response processes, providing clear guidance for responders.
• Create and maintain high-quality detection documentation and runbooks.
