Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Malaysia is seeking an experienced PCB design engineer to drive functional test solutions. You will design interfaces using Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, create precise AutoCAD drawings, and integrate test hardware requirements into PCB documentation.

You will collaborate with global teams including test engineering, package development, suppliers, and production sites. A strong background in PCB design, DFx principles, and IPC standards is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in semiconductor test hardware or ATE industry.
• Hands-on Cadence Allegro/OrCAD for PCB design.
• Experience with PCB manufacturing and assembly (DFM/ DFA).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings and design checks.
• Strong understanding of PCB design fundamentals: stack-up, SI, EMI/EMC, high-speed principles.
• Familiarity with design-for-test (DFT) principles.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Analyze product requirements towards functional test solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect design and manufacturing requirements and ensure seamless integration
• Design PCB interface solutions using Cadence PCB tool (Allegro / OrCAD) including schematic/layout as applicable
• Create and maintain 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, including drawing checks and alignment with Infineon standards
• Integrate test hardware interface requirements into PCB design documentation (interfaces, outlines, mounting, keep-outs, etc.)
• Apply and improve existing company templates, rules, and design guidelines
• Contribute to PCB design and innovation projects as a project team member or technical contributor
• Work closely with international partners from test engineering, package development, external suppliers, Infineon production sites, and external test houses

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (University or University of Applied Sciences) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor test hardware or automated test equipment (ATE) industry
• Hands-on experience with Cadence tools (Allegro/OrCAD) for PCB design is mandatory - including schematic capture, layout, and design rule setup
• Experience with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes (DFM/DFA principles)
• Experience working with PCB designs
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D mechanical drawing creation and design checks
• Strong understanding of PCB design fundamentals: stack-up design, signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, high-speed design principles
• Understanding of design-for-test (DFT) principles
• Familiarity with test hardware/fixture design is a plus
• Knowledge of industry standards (IPC standards for PCB design/fabrication)
• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive design documentation (schematics, layouts, BOMs, assembly drawings)
• Experience in developing/improving design templates, guidelines, and best practices
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills - ability to work with mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with international teams, external suppliers, and production sites
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team structure (as team member or technical contributor)
• Experience working in a global organization with distributed teams across time zones
• Fluency in both written and spoken English is mandatory
• Any formal certification in PCB design tools (Cadence Allegro/OrCAD) would be an advantage
• IPC certification (e.g., IPC-2221, IPC-A-600) is a plus
