Job summary

Western Digital in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Technician 3, Test Equipment Maintenance to troubleshoot downtime on test equipment (Testcell, Tester, Bagger, VDCS, Conveyor) and resolve yield issues.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering and 4-5 years in manufacturing equipment maintenance, with hands-on skills in mechanical/electrical systems, safety protocols, and documentation; on-site work.

Qualifications

Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field).
4-5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and pressure controls.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical diagrams, equipment manuals).

Responsibilities

Set up and troubleshoot major downtime issues for test equipment, including Testcell, Tester, Bagger, VDCS, and Conveyor systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve Testcell yield issues to maintain product quality and throughput.
Conduct investigations for quality incidents related to test equipment and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Perform product conversions on test equipment to support various production requirements.
Monitor KPIVs using KPOV database, OEE tracking, Maintenance Logs, and Digital Preventive Maintenance system.
