Job summary

onsemi Malaysia is seeking a Test Development Engineer to support test development and engineering as products move from development to mass production. You will collaborate with Product Engineering and manufacturing test teams to implement robust final test for high voltage and high power modules and discretes, leading solutions across multiple sites.

The role requires strong knowledge of IGBT/MOSFET devices, hands-on testing experience, and proficiency in Visual C++.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.
• At least 5 years hands‑on experience in semiconductor test and/or product engineering, with preference for high power semiconductor.
• Good oral and written English language.
• Strong knowledge on power semiconductors such as IGBT, MOSFET, Rectifiers and gate drivers.
• Experience with ETS high power test platforms or equivalent in multi-site environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Engineering and manufacturing test engineering to support new product development and mass production transition across sites.
• Develop and implement test software and hardware for high voltage, high power semiconductor modules and discrete devices, mainly in final test.
• Lead engineer for test solution implementation in mass production.
• Perform product characterization.

• Support customer related activities as needed.

• Work together with Product Engineering team and manufacturing test engineering team to support new product development and its smooth transition to mass production in multiple manufacturing sites.

• Good programming skills in Visual C++.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, Power Point, Excel and Word.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and able to work efficiently with multi‑functional groups across different locations.
• Project management skills.Results/goal oriented.
