Job description

Mission Details

• Conduct paint and coating formulation and testing of resin products. Carry out tests as requested and provide the necessary formulations and data to customers to support business development. Conduct lab testing and formula improvement for customers.

• Build value-added testing and application development, evaluate market competition products aligned with sales and marketing strategies.

• Visit customers with the technical service manager or sales team to develop and propose technical solutions that meet customer requirements or resolve issues in product application and paint formulation.

• Participate in customer meetings, liaise with customers on product performance requirements, and recommend suitable products to support new business development.

• Conduct product training for sales personnel, agents, and distributors.

• Develop successful relationships with sales partners by providing technical support to achieve sales objectives and obtain product approvals.

• Prepare technical tools, such as panels, to assist in product promotion.

• Collaborate with sales teams, distributors, and customers to develop and propose technical solutions addressing customer needs in product application and paint formulation.

• Design and execute laboratory tests to develop a product data library and guide formulation, including products from other Arkema sites.

• Attend to application-related complaints for coating resins and propose solutions to resolve issues to meet customer satisfaction.

• Implement and maintain high standards in the application lab management system, including housekeeping, inventory control, equipment calibration and maintenance, and waste management.

• Develop procedures, test requirements, product specifications, and testing methods for related paint and construction products.

• Plan and organize activities according to AIMS and company HSEQ policies. Perform risk assessments of lab operations under HSE guidance, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.

• Ensure health and safety responsibilities are met, including wearing PPE, reporting hazards, incidents, and near-misses, and complying with relevant policies and regulations.

Required Profile

• Degree in Chemistry or related Science discipline with 5-8 years of laboratory experience in the industry.

• Experience in paint and coatings, inks, or construction chemicals.

• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (reading, writing, speaking).

• Good organizational and communication skills.

• Willingness to travel.
